Located on the northwest Mediterranean coast of Cyprus, the small mountainous village of Limni will soon be the site of a world-class golf resort aimed at European holiday-makers. Limni is just outside the popular town of Polis. A short drive away is the Marina at Latchi with its many taverns often serving fish that have been caught a few hours before. The town of Paphos is 30 minutes away and the airport 40 minutes, these travelling times will shortly be reduced as a new motorway will soon be built linking Limni/Polis to Paphos and the airport.

Shacolas, the largest private commercial group in Cyprus, owns a plot of 2,800,000 square meters in Limni, Polis Chrysochou, where a huge project with 2 golf courses, an upmarket hotel, and luxury villas will be constructed The plot has access to the seafront with a quay of 150 meters.

Shacolas has appointed Gary Player Design and Nicklaus Design to create two signature championship layouts at the centre of this development and groundwork has already begun. The plan also includes high-end residential villas as well as a boutique hotel, spa, restaurants and designer shops. As the first and only Player-Nicklaus development in the whole of Europe, Limni Golf Resort will undoubtedly be in a class of its own.

Formerly an old copper mine, the parcel of land designated for the Player course is characterized by a large crater which will be integrated into the design. In addition, the property is raised up and set back from the shoreline, allowing for spectacular long-distance views of the Mediterranean Sea. Already a booming tourist destination with year-round sunshine, Cyprus is the new "jewel in the crown" for golfers seeking breaks in the warmth of the eastern Mediterranean - playing golf in temperatures of 20 degrees in the middle of January is a new experience for many people.

Success at A Place in the Sun!

Heather Barnes Overseas Property Investments & Sales Ltd, launched its business at the second ‘A place In The Sun’ at Birmingham’s NEC from 2nd – 4th October 2009.

The show demonstrated that confidence is very strong in investing in properties overseas with nearly 4,000 visitors.

Many visitors were surprised at the presence of the Heather Barnes stand and the amount of visitors enquiring about the specialist advice on offer.

According to Richard Earl IFA from Ware, Hertfordshire, “Clients came to the show looking for sound financial advice for investing in the overseas property market, which is hugely encouraging despite the UK economy still struggling to recover”.
